Perfect gift for Father's Day!

How To Play

Players –  2-12 per game

Set Up:

  • Set the “Baseline Kubbs” out evenly over the 4 metre wide Baseline.
  • Approx 6 metres away, do the same with the “Baseline Kubb” at the other end of the field.
  • Place the Boundary markers at each corner of the field, approx 20cm from the “Baseline Kubb”.
  • Place the King in the middle of the field. This should be approx 3 metres from each Baseline.

Aim:

The goal is to be the first to knock down your opponents “Baseline Kubb” followed by the King.

The King is like the “black ball” in pool, it cannot be knocked over until the very end, otherwise you lose!

Gameplay:

  • In turns, teams take aim, and then toss their batons underarm at their opponents “Baseline Kubb”  trying to knock them down.
  • Any of the “Baseline Kubb” that were knocked down during this turn are NOT eliminated from the game.
  • Before Team 2 tosses their batons, they must first throw any of the knocked down “Baseline Kubb” back into their opponents half of the field. Wherever they land they are stood up, and then become the target to be knocked over before they can once again aim for any of the “Baseline Kubb”.
  • Team 1 then collects ALL knocked over “Baseline Kubb”, including the other teams, and throws them back into the opponents half again.

As the game progresses teams will be throwing more and more Kubbs before each turn.

The real skill is getting the Kubbs to ‘touch’ each other when throwing them, as this allows them to be stacked into a tower!

  • Once a team has knocked over all of their opponents “Back 5” Kubbs, they are allowed to aim for the King. Knock the King down, and you are the Kubb champion!

*To add more of a twist – If you are aiming for the King and all your batons miss, then you lose!*
